Caucasian Squirrel

This little fellow is a Caucasian Squirrel or sometimes known as a Persian Squirrel and can be found in mixed forests in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Greece, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Turkey.

This one was scrabbling around on the rocks just beyond the wooden picket type fencing of a restaurant in the mountains.  The restaurant is perched on the edge of a rock face and the little squirrel kept disappearing over the edge and popping back up again, I am not sure if he knew I was on the other side of the fence or not.  I managed to take the photos with my camera lense as close to the gap in the wooden fencing as possible.
